Welcome to CanDo's Napa Food Project!

Napa Valley CanDo's Food Project is a revolutionary new way to collect food:  It's a donor drive, not a food drive.

Instead of asking for one-time contributions of food, our volunteers (Neighborhood Coordinators) enlist their neighbors to become long-term Food Donors.

man with bagsWhat we do

Neighbors give a bag of food every two months. It's incredibly easy, because we supply the bag…and we pick up the food! This provides food pantries with a steady, year-round supply of food…and provides donors with the ongoing satisfaction of making a real difference. People also get to know their neighbors, which builds a powerful sense of community. So everyone wins.

full shelvesWhat's the result?

The system really works! Last year in Ashland, OR (where the Food Project began), residents donated 140,000 lbs. of food…one bag at a time! That's more than 4x the amount of donated food collected in Napa during the same year, and we're a much larger community. There's plenty of room for growth.

So read more…and then click on a link below to join us! Remember: CanDo's http://cms.soupala.com/sites/32973/page/607170NFP is a grassroots group. That means it depends entirely on people like you. Whether you donate food, collect it, participate in making policy decisions, or help out in some other way, you are what makes this program work. The NFP needs you!

We’ll bring you a reusable green bag. Put food in it, and we’ll pick it up. It’s that easy!
